Great and Bad Things Are Done One Step At A Time
(a diary of life’s meaningful minutiae)
Many of us use social media not to investigate new ideas or ways of thinking but rather to make ourselves ‘right’ about our position on life . Rarely do we find someone looking for a deeper understanding of other ideologies or points of view and this, my friend, will not help bring about peace or any from of settled condition on our planet.
I am not the best homeowner. I am not dedicated to doing my lawn to perfection, nor is my house painted impeccably. I am loath to put time in to chores that would improve the appearance of my abode. To counter this, I make a point of tidying up at least one thing, no matter how small, every day to keep a forward path to having a pleasant environment around me.
I like to eat before going to bed - lately I make popcorn with a little butter and a little salt - this can add up to contributing to my weight problem. Hmmm, what to do…?
I continue to refine my understanding of what is the best dietary path to take - I find that I’m able to modify or remove certain ‘go to’ foods as I become more cognizant of what’s good for me - don’t wanna get real sick if I can help it. In fact, I really wanna be healthy as I get older… and older… and older…
I make a point of prepping my b-fast and lunch the night before. With this, there is less chaos in the AM.
Lesson plans, like food for the next day tastes best when prepared the night before.
I do tend to spend too much time making dinner when I still have things to do that evening… Just saying…
I spend too much on streaming subscriptions - just cancelled YouTube TV and will cancel Apple TV+ and Plex. Addendum: I cancelled Plex, YouTubeTV and Netflix. I have kept Apple+ thus far. May change that, we’ll see.
I spend too much money on having food delivered to my house: an order that would have cost me $47 if I got off my butt and made the purchase at the store cost me $61.
That being said, today, I placed an order on Costco.com for all the bloat for Thanksgiving Dinner! I actually feel okay about that - Costco prices are low enough that even with the fees and the tip, I saved money.
Made Thanksgiving dinner. We celebrated on Saturday, so I started prepping the day before.
I’m going for a blood test tomorrow, I have eaten well for over 6 months and I hope that my test results will bear this out. Wish me luck!
